Ethical Consumer

Future projects

As an investor your money will be helping us develop all our new projects. Two key projects for 2009/10 are as follows.

1. Rating Corporate Responsibility Reports for Consumers

We are beginning to build a community of interest around the idea that government is an appropriate funder of ongoing research into the quality of CSR reports. The research should be designed and published in a way which allows consumers and other purchasers to make buying decisions based on the relative quality of reporting at competing companies.

This is an international collaboration. Returns for ECRA will come through consultancy, advice, secondments and licensing to the new organisation. We aim to have attracted sufficient grant funding in 2009 for the project to become self-sustaining.

Developing the Magazine

The Ethical Consumer magazine has always been the cornerstone of ECRA's campaign to bring ethics into everyday consumer markets. We believe the magazine has a long term future and we are always developing new content and ideas. Funding ECRA will also help us to keep the magazine essential reading for campaigners and consumers in a fast changing environment where consumer ethics is now everyday discourse.
