As our ratings are constantly updated, it is possible that company ratings on the ethiscore website may have changed since this report was written.

Magimix toasters are the Best Buy. Dualit is one of our Best Buys and, although it is largely a premium brand, it has introduced a line of cheaper toasters starting at around £49 instead of its usual £100+. Dualit is followed by the Russell Hobbs brand.
Models from all three brands were recommended as Best Buys in a Which? November 2007 report on the Which? website.

Toasters

We take a look at who's making our toast in the morning

The humble toaster can now come with all manner of bells and whistles - bun warmers, countdown features, digital displays. Most toasters sold now are metallic ones, plastic ones having declined in popularity. As yet, there are no toasters marketed for their energy saving features, apart from those 4 slice models which state that they have 'energy saving independent 2 slice operation'! Most toasters are manufactured in Asia, notably China but increasingly India.
