Four arrested for fraud at government welfare-to-work company
Thames Valley police have arrested four former A4E staff on suspicion of fraud. On 17th February police officers visited the A4e offices in Slough as part of an investigation into allegations of fraud, which had been referred to the police by the Department for Work and Pensions.
A4e said that the ongoing investigation concerned former staff members who had worked on the European Social Funds contracts and were alleged to have falsely claimed that people had been placed into employment.
The arrests were made after A4E had uncovered the offences from conducting internal investigations and was reported to the Department for Work and Pensions by the company.
