We have begun researching banks and insurance companies in order to update our buyers'guides on this website and in our magazine. Are you involved in campaigning against banks? Have you got a story to tell...or just ideas for different persepctives we could take?

There's a lot of talk about campaigns to switch accounts away from big international banks and towards more local and mutual-type institutions - as part of the broader public protests and occupations happening this year.

We hope to bring our usual practical how-to approach to this subject. Reviewing these companies should also let us look at some other financial products like mortgages and possibly pensions.

In addition we plan to run a couple of more focussed articles on financial institutions and tax havens, and also around commodity specualtion and food sucurity.

Do let us know if you think there's anything else we should cover...
