Hello!

I just wondered if anyone had thought about developing some kind of Ethical Consumer Android App. It would be a great idea if you are out and about and see a product you want to buy, if you could search it on your phone and see how it rates ethically before you buy it. I'd be willing to pay for an app like that. If only I knew how, I'd make the app myself lol.

It would be nice to hear from subscribers and registered members if you have any ideas on how you would like an Ethical Consumer app to work?

What information would you consider key to being able to make ethical decisions when shopping?

Or would you like to just be able to see a table and the ethiscore?

We have a lot of information that could be used so we are thinking of trying to make this a bit more simpler.

Hey, just got my first fancy android phone and would love to see an Ethical Consumer app. What would be great is to link barcodes to company profiles. Loads of barcode scanner apps available which could potentially link to information on your site.
If this isn't possible, at least having the categories available to subscribers. I'd be interested in just seeing the brand name and total score.
I'd also be happy to pay for the app although I think there should be a discount for subscribers.

Just to let you know that our first foray into mobile publishing won't be an app but will be a mobile optimised version of the website..due in a couple of weeks now. We'll be emailing registered users once its working so that they can help us test it out.
Won't have bar code scanning yet, just the usual buyers guides simplified for a smalll screen.
