Sorry, the main part of my message got swallowed somehow...

I'd like to know more about the winners - Coventry & Cumberland BS - to understand why they're so far ahead of Co-Op. Also, what happened to Triodos?

    Thanks!

    Hi Mirrorballbob,

In short building societies are required by regulation to invest in residential properties therefore they are less likely to be involved in commercial lending. The low score of the Co-op is the result of it being part of the Co-operative Group which – as a supermarket – is involved in animal farming and other activities which its banking competitors are not. Triodos does not feature in our current accounts report because they only have mortgages and savings accounts which are also on our website.

Our report on banks is now available online and will be in the next issue of the magazine. Also check out the Move Your Money campaign as there is lots of information about the different structures of banks.

    Hope that helps.

    Heather
