Spare a thought for dairy cows this Mother’s Day

30 March, 2014 is Mother’s Day but it’s also Viva!'s Day of Action for the hardest working mothers.

According to Viva!: "On Mother’s Day, we show appreciation for all the hard work, love and care our mothers have shown us over the years. But there are millions of mothers who can never express these nurturing instincts because their babies are snatched away from them after birth. They need your help."

If you use social media (Facebook, Twitter), change your cover picture to Viva!'s Hardest Working Mum image and your profile picture to their White Lies logo.

You could also pledge to go dairy-free, ask your local cafe to provide dairy-free options such as soya milk, donate to the campaign or distribute leaflets. Find out how to take part.

Viva!'s brand new White Lies campaign aims to show the truth about dairying and strip away the claims that dairy products are healthy.

See our shopping guide to non-dairy milk.
