Consumer Campaigning: Past, Present and Future

Ethical Consumer's 25th anniversary event.


Event date: September 26th 2014 

Join Ethical Consumer and friends for a day of lively debates and speakers focusing on consumer campaigning for sustainability and social justice.

The last 25 years has seen a dramatic increase in the market for ethical goods and services. Come and join those who have been at the heart of this phenomenon as we explore how this trend will continue and broaden over the next 25 years.


Confirmed speakers include:

John Hilary - Executive Director of War on Want

Blanch Jones - Campaigns Director of 38 degrees

Bruce Davis - Joint Managing Director of Abundance Generation 

Emily Kenway - Founder of the Amazon Anonymous campaign


The focus of the day will be: 

25 years of success - Celebrating the successes of the last 25 years with speakers from successful ethical businesses, a South Africa boycott campaigner and environmental NGOs.

The Present - Discussion panel on the big issues of our time including the environmental crisis: food and consumption; fast fashion and the disposable society; the Israel Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions campaign; and internet giant Amazon.

The Future - Panel and group discussions on ethical and peer to peer finance, the future of ethical labeling, new technology campaigning tools of the future and the the future of the ethical market.


The event is followed by a drinks reception.

Lunch (veggie or vegan) is also included in the ticket price.
