Chris Packham threatens to boycott Marks and Spencer

Chris Packham has released a video explaining why it is unethical to sell and eat grouse.

He concludes that if Marks and Spencer and Iceland choose to sell grouse (which they have done in the past) he will boycott both shops in protest.

He asks viewers to sign Mark Avery’s petition to ban driven grouse shooting.  This petition has garnered much support with over 50,000 people having already signed it.

The petition reads:

'Grouse shooting for 'sport' depends on intensive habitat management which increases flood risk and greenhouse gas emissions, relies on killing Foxes, Stoats, Mountain Hares etc in large numbers and often leads to the deliberate illegal killing of protected birds of prey including Hen Harriers.'

The deadline for signing this petition is the 20th September. Sign it now to help it reach its target of 100,000.

Read Ethical Consumer’s report ‘Turn your back on grouse’ for more information.
