Email Nick Clegg before crucial vote on 23rd Feb

The EU will vote on the EU Fuel Quality Directive on 23rd Feb. This would effectively ban Tar Sands from the EU, but the UK is opposing it and actively lobbying other countries to vote against the measure (under pressure from Canadia).

With Barack Obama’s recent move to reject the Keystone XL pipeline, (which aimed to pump tar sands from Alberta to Texas), and growing First Nations protests against a proposed Enbridge pipeline to Canada’s west coast (to supply eastern markets, such as China) the world’s doors are closing to Canada’s dirty oil. Without the demand, industry cannot justify its planned expansion.

Norman Baker and Nick Clegg are now the focus of a campaign from People & Planet as their support is crucial. Get involved in the campaign and email them here.
