Launched in 1989, Ethical Consumer is the UK's longest-running alternative consumer magazine.

It is published bi-monthly, with 6 issues per year. Potential advertisers are screened against our ethical criteria.



Readership

Ethical Consumer's readership is one of the most targeted markets available for products and services designed with ethical and environmental issues in mind.

  • Each issue is bought by 6,500 people.
  • 87 per cent of sales are to subscribers.
  • Readership is 25,000, mainly social classes A and B.
  • Over 90 per cent of readers actively seek out ethical products and use the magazine primarily as a buyer's guide.

Inserts
ECRA may prefer to make exchange arrangements with other organisations for inserts. The cost when sold is £78 per 1,000 for A4 (or folded variations) as long as the insert weighs less than 10g. Please contact us for prices for other sizes or weights.

Discounts
Series - a discount of 10% applies for three consecutive ads, 15% for four or more.

About the Advertisers
Within each issue of the EC is a small column entitled 'About the Advertisers'. This section draws readers attention to the name of the report in which each advertiser's product was last featured (where appropriate) and gives the issue number of the magazine.
