Post 1: Researcher and Co-op Member. Starting at £14,560 pro rata (40 hrs) for 35 hours per week. Flexible working hours.


Post 2: Researcher and Co-op Member (part time). Starting at £14,560 pro rata (40 hrs) for 20 hours per week. Flexible working hours.
We are looking for two team players to produce research for publication in Ethical Consumer’s magazine, databases and websites. You must also be prepared to deal with general office administration as a significant part of the job. You will have excellent organisational skills and computer literacy, good written English and a keen eye for detail. These are permanent positions and the ability to work independently and to deadlines is essential.

Post 3: Subscriptions Manager. Starting at £14,560 pro rata (40hrs) for 25 to 35 hours per week. Flexible working hours.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to help manage our magazine and website subscriptions at Ethical Consumer. Excellent IT skills including word processing, spreadsheet management and the use of email and internet are essential. We are looking to agree a fixed number of hours – between 25 and 35 per week - to suit the right candidate. The subscriptions manager is a permanent position at ECRA and will become a member of the co-op.

Post 4: Research Manager (5 month fixed-term post – maternity cover) £24,960 pro rata for 32 hours a week. Flexible working hours.
We are looking for an individual with substantial experience of research and complex project management to work on and lead a specific five month research project at Ethical Consumer. Excellent numeracy and knowledge of Excel spreadsheets are essential requirements for this post.
This contract should run from a mutually acceptable start date in early June 2008 for 22 weeks until an end date in November 2008.

An awareness of and commitment to environmental and social issues is essential for these positions. All jobs are strictly office-based (Manchester).

Volunteering

We are always happy to hear from anyone who would like to volunteer for us.

Due to the nature of the work here, we ask for the following as a minimum commitment:

- one day per week over a six month period.
- must be based in our Manchester office.

The work would consist of a range of different tasks including admin, research and maybe writing some small pieces for the magazine.

We are a co-operatively run organisation so we share all tasks between us.

If you have specific skills that you would like to volunteer (such as research, design, marketing or photography), please contact us to discuss them.

Our office is in Manchester in the UK. We are only able to make a small contribution towards transport costs and lunch expenses.
