In January 2018 Ethical Consumer viewed KKR's wesite and found that it had investments in several biopharmaceuticals companies: BridgeBio Pharma, Coherus BioSciences and Slayback Pharma.
The pharmaceutical industry was required to use animal testing for safety testing.
As a result KKR was marked down under animal testing for its investments.

In April 2018 Ethical Consumer viewed the websites of a number of brands owned by Unilever Spreads and found that dairy formed a core part of the business. It did not appear that they used organic dairy therefore the company lost a whole mark under factory farming and animal rights.
