In August 2018 Ethical Consumer viewed Oxfam's shop website and found that it sold items made from leather. Mostly these products were donated to Oxfam and resold as 2nd hand.
As leather is a slaughthouse by product Oxfam lost half a mark under Ethical Consumer's animal rights category.
Oxfam did not lose additional marks under pollution and toxics as the company was not involved in the sourcing of the products and only sold them due to the fact they have been donated.
