In March 2020, Ethical Consumer viewed the FAQ section on Earth Friendly Products' website, which stated:

"Almost all our ingredients are GMO-free, and we’re working closely with our suppliers to find GMO-free sources for our ethanol and enzymes, which are not considered GMOs but may be derived from GMO sources."

As it was positive that the company was working towards GMO-free sourcing, had been transparent about the issue, and not all personal and household care had been checked for GMO policies, it was not marked down. This reference is for information only.

In March 2020, Ethical Consumer searched the Open Secrets website, which was published in the USA by the Centre for Responsive Politics. The website included a lobbying client profile for Earth Friendly Products for 2019. It said that the company had lobbied on the issue of Chemical & Related Manufacturing, and had hired the firm Manatos & Manatos. 1 of the 2 lobbyists were said to be from revolving doors. However, the website stated that the amount spent on lobbying was $0. As it was unclear whether the company had actually therefore employed lobbyists, it was not marked down.
