In March 2020, Ethical Consumer searched the Conscious Skincare website for information on the company's approach to animal testing.

The website stated that it was ‘proud to be approved by PETA, Cruelty Free International, The Vegetarian Society and the Naturewatch Foundation who all have lists of cruelty free brands like ours, and lots of interesting animal testing facts’

Its products were Leaping Bunny approved and carried the logo from Cruelty-Free International. This was confirmed by a search on the Cruelty-Free International website. It was also part of PETA’s Beauty Without Bunnies program.

According to a completed questionnaire, that it returned to Ethical Consumer in February 2019, its fixed cut-off date was "the start date of our company, 28th March 2011".
Conscious Skincare received Ethical Consumer's best rating for animal testing.

Conscious Skincare email (13 March 2020)

In March 2020 Ethical Consumer searched the Conscious Skincare website for information on the company's approach to animal ingredients.

The company’s website stated ‘Our Organic Skincare range is now ‘Vegan Approved’ by the Vegetarian Society. You can read more about the accreditation here. 99.9% of all our skincare is now suitable for Vegans, the only exception being our Grapefruit Shampoo which contains Honeyquat and is being discontinued. The good news is that our Pure Shampoo and Cypress and Sage Shampoo are both great alternatives which are entirely suitable for Vegan use’.

The company's questionnaire, received in February 2019, also stated that it checked its suppliers against its "own brand ethics; ingredients and finished products not tested on animals, no animal derivatives, palm oil free, free from a range of allergens, who is the parent company and what do they do."
As the company was Vegan approved by the Vegetarian Society and had committed to de-listing its only product containing animal ingredients, it was not marked down under Animal Rights. This reference is for information only.
