In December 2020 Ethical Consumer viewed the D&B Hoovers corporate database which listed Grant Engineering (Ireland) Unlimited Company as being registered in Ireland. The database also listed a subsidiary of the company, Alley Enterprises Unlimited Company, which was also registered in Ireland. Ireland was a jurisdiction considered by Ethical Consumer to be a tax haven at the time of writing.

Ethical Consumer also viewed the Grant UK website which stated that, after being founded in 1978, in 1981 Grant "moved to purpose built 15,000sq ft factory at Crinkle, 1000 back boilers manufactured each week." Crinkle is the location of the company's registration in Ireland. The Grant Engineering Ireland website also stated "All our products are manufactured at our production plant in Birr, Co. Offaly and our Sales and Marketing subsidiaries are located in the UK." The company was therefore considered to be an Irish company registered in the jurisdiction for legitimate purposes.
