In May 2021 Ethical Consumer searched the Friendly Soap Ltd website, for details about supply chain management.

The website listed the Living Wage Foundation on its Accreditations page. Regarding raw ingredients, no mention of certification or supplier audits was found. Its shea butter was said to be bought from a women’s worker cooperative in Ghana but no further detail was provided.

Although Friendly Soap was a small company (turnover of less than £10.2million) that was taking some provisions to manage workers’ rights in its supply chain, in the absence of more detailed information it received a middle rating for its Supply Chain Management and lost half a mark in this category.
