Ethical Consumer started from a Manchester council flat in 1989, as a magazine for citizen activists like ourselves; a few thousand people campaigning on ethical issues, boycotting products and looking for ethical alternatives.
Twenty years on, ethical consumerism has exploded into the mainstream, and we're still going strong. Here we remember our first 20 years, take a look at what the future holds, and ask some public figures for their best and worst ethical products.
Love this, Ban that!
What's on Boris' christmas list? As part of our birthday celebrations, we asked 20 of the UK’s leading politicians and campaigners for their favourite and most hated products of the last 20 years. See their answers here.
